For your shopping in Barcelona, this is the place to be! From your Barcelona accommodation, you can go walking to Passeig de Gracia. This street is famous, apart from its exclusive shops, for being the must see of modernism arquitecture in Barcelona. In this avenue, you really have to visit Casa Batlló (Paseo de Gracia, 43) and La Pedrera, (Paseo de Gracia, 92).
When you go up Passeig de Gracia, you will find Avenida Diagonal, big avenue with more shops from big firms.
When you walk Paseo de Gracia down, you will find to “Plaza Cataluña”, considered the heart of the metropolis. In this square you will find three shopping malls, where to find everything you fancy and the latest trends: El Corte Inglés, in the side of Paseo de Gracia, El Triangle and Sfera, placed at the other side of this plaza. There is also a big FNAC store, to buy books and DVD’s.
To carry on shopping, take “Avda. Porta del Angel”, the pedestrian street going down in Plaza Cataluña. This street is loads with shoe and clothing shops. Continuing that street down, there’s another “El Corte Inglés” shopping mall and a Decathlon center. Note that this street is parallel to the famous Ramblas in Barcelona, where you can be entertained by the street jugglers and have a small snack and a drink whilst your shopping. In fact to have a drink, we recommend you to go opposite Ramblas, towards Via Laietana, there are loads of bars, restaurants and cafés, at more reasonable prices.
